16 November 2016
Super Fun Day- Friday- 18 November: All learners are looking forward to this day and I am sure that they will have lots of fun. Please do pay in the monies, if you haven’t done so already. Learners must come to school in their PE kit, with their school costumes underneath, and slops/sandals. Girls must use their full school costume with shorts over the costume as an option and boys must use their costumes or baggies as an option. The tuck shop will be opened and learners wishing to purchase food/drinks must bring their monies in a clearly marked envelope for safe keeping, or alternatively carry a packed lunch. There is no need for learners to carry their school bags on this day, as they will be on the field the entire day. Parents are allowed to spend the day watching their children but are only allowed from 10am onwards. You may bring your picnic baskets/umbrellas along to relax and enjoy the day. There have been requests for siblings to play on the rides, but unfortunately this is not allowed. Please note that school finishes at 1:30pm on this day for all learners.
School Fees: A sincere thank you to all those families who have paid their school fees so diligently throughout the year. Your contribution has enabled Scottburgh Primary School to continue to offer quality education, and your commitment is sincerely appreciated. The final school fee account for the year has been processed. All outstanding fees are due by the end of November. Thereafter accounts will be handed over for collection, unless arrangements have been made with the Governing Body.
Hampers for our Caretakers: The monitors will be co-ordinating a collection of non-perishable and tinned foodstuff to make up Christmas hampers for our hardworking caretakers, Sbu, Goodenough, Wiseman, Johnson, Innocent, Lindi and Princess. Each child is asked to bring a donation by Thursday 01 December so we can make up the hampers. Donations of dry foods such as mealie meal / sugar / rice / samp / beans / packets of soup powder, or tinned goods of any kind are very welcome; packets of sweets would be a bonus!
Grand Jackpot: A sincere thank you for your support towards the Grand Jackpot.

The school will be providing tea and eats which will be served after the prize giving and parents of learners in Grades 4 & 5 are requested to send a donation of R20 per learner in lieu of providing a plate of eats. Academic: Learners will be working on activities organized by their teachers right through to the last day of term. Games and toys may not be brought to school. Learners may not be absent without a valid excuse. Reports will be handed to learners on the last day of term, 7 December. Please do not request reports to be issued earlier than the given date, as teachers are already hard-pressed to meet the deadlines set.
Lost Property: There is still a large amount of unclaimed and unnamed items of clothing in our lost property basket. Any uniform items not claimed by the end of term will be put into our welfare supply.
Class Placements for 2017: Please note that the allocation of children to classes is completed by Phase Leaders in consultation with class teachers, taking into account ability, social grouping and demographics. Parents are therefore asked not to request that children are placed with specific educators next year.
Transfer Cards: Children leaving the school are required to present a transfer card at their new school. Please inform Mrs. S. Jones if your child will be leaving our school so that a transfer card may be included with the school report.
Cat Food: Donations of cat pellets to assist with the feeding of our school cats during the holidays will be appreciated. Thank you for your ongoing support.
MySchool Cards: Please remember to use your “MySchool” card when doing your shopping over the holiday season. Swipe your card with any purchase you make at the My School Card partner stores, and our school will get a small percentage of that purchase! It is a wonderful way to raise extra funds for the school. Go to www.myschool.co.za for the list of supporter stores and / or to apply for a card. Application forms are also available at the school office.
