Senior Primary Inter-House Swimming Gala (Grades 4-7)
This will take place on Wednesday, 7 February, starting at 09h00 and finishing at 14h00. All learners (Grades 3-7) are expected to attend, as this is a normal school day. No learner may leave, until the end of the gala. Grade 3 learners are invited as supporters. Normal Academic Programme will continue for Grades 1 and 2. Learners from Grades 3-7 are to come to school dressed in their PE kit and house t-shirt. Swimmers are to wear their costumes underneath; with a towel and house cap packed in a bag. Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly marked.
All learners are to bring a hat, sunscreen and packed lunch. Light refreshments will be given to all our learners. The tuck shop will be available outside the pool. Parents are reminded about the family relay. A minimum of one adult is required in the team in this fun event.
REMINDER: All Extra Murals (Grades 1 -7) are suspended for Wednesday. For the paid activities, kindly contact the relevant organizer.
Introduction of medals to learners excelling in Academic, Sporting and Cultural events.
We are happy to announce that learners will receive medals for their outstanding achievements in specific Academic, Sporting and Cultural events. This will apply only to Senior Primary, as we would like to maintain the concept of participation and enjoyment for our Foundation Phase learners. We will start with the Inter-House Swimming Gala, where swimmers achieving First, Second and Third Positions will receive medals. It is for this reason, that these three top finishers only, will be placed on the podium.
Senior Primary Prize Giving
The Committee is currently looking at ways in which we can improve this event and add value to our learner’s outstanding achievements in the Academic, Sporting and Cultural fields. With this being the idea, one such award will be the Best Swimmer Award (Boy and Girl). There will be criteria set for these categories of awards, which will look at the learner’s achievements throughout the year and his/her level of achievement, and not just a single event such as an Inter-House event. Please be mindful about this. More information will be forwarded to you soon.
The Management, Staff and Parents would like to congratulate our school for being placed in the Top 20 selection. This is regarded as an exceptional achievement and we can be proud of this prestigious award.
Official School Caps and Hats:
Thank you for supporting the school by purchasing these items as it relates to our Sun Safe Policy. These caps and hats form part of the school’s official uniform and learners can wear these items to school.
We are in the final stages of installing the relevant software protection for the tablets, and parents will be updated shortly.
Appointment with the Principal:
As much as I have an open door policy, it would be greatly appreciated if parents could kindly make an appointment to see me. I do understand when it is an emergency. Thank you to the parents that do practise this.
