SANI2C CYCLE RACE
ADVENTURE RACE CAR SHUTTLE SERVICE
WEDNESDAY 10 MAY and THURSDAY 11 MAY 2017
Scottburgh Primary School will once again be involved in the annual shuttle service for the Sani2C Adventure Cycle Race. We will require approximately 240 volunteer drivers to bring cars (either manual or automatic) belonging to cyclists taking part in this epic race, from Underberg to Scottburgh. We will be driving over 2 days this year, and ask you to kindly volunteer to drive on one or both days.
You will be transported, by bus, from Scottburgh Primary to Glencairn Farm, where you will be given the keys of a car belonging to a cyclist, and required to drive it to the parking area at Scottburgh High School. Here it will be parked and the keys handed over to one of the school committee members for safe-keeping.
Please remember that all this at NO COST to yourselves – you are only giving your TIME!
The buses transporting the drivers will leave Scottburgh Primary School at 07h00 on Wednesday 10 May and Thursday 11 May, giving you ample time to get back to Scottburgh long before dark. You are more than welcome to park your vehicle on our school field for the day. Three buses will leave Scottburgh Primary and head to Glencairn Farm on Wednesday and one bus will leave on Thursday.
This is a massive fundraiser for our school, and we encourage everyone to get involved. Should you not be able to participate in this school fundraiser, please find a family member, friend or colleague that can drive in your place.
HOW MUCH CAN WE RAISE ……… ?
Each car driven from Underberg to Scottburgh brings in approximately R750,00. R750 x 240 cars = R180 000,00 before expenses (bus hire / parking expenses, etc.). All of the money raised is used for the ongoing improvement of our school.
WHO CAN DRIVE ………. ?
Any licensed, experienced driver over the age of 25. The driver does not have to be a parent of a child in our school – we call on relations / friends / grandparents / any member of the community to help, provided they are in possession of a valid driver’s license.
All learners who supply a driver will be entered into a lucky draw competition to win a prize. The draw will take place after we have transported all the vehicles back to Scottburgh. Any learner who supplies 5 or more drivers, will automatically receive a small gift of appreciation.
Please consider giving up your time to assist in raising much needed funds for our school – enjoy a day out in the country and see a different part of the world! Simply complete the attached reply form and return it to school as soon as possible. More information will be sent out closer to the time. Should you have any queries in the interim, please contact Mrs. Black or Mrs. Mandy Jones.
